ABOUT ME
Emil Olejnik is a young award-winning Polish cellist based in New York. He is pursuing a Masters Degree at The Juilliard School where he has previously earned his Bachelor Degree. For the past six years Emil has been studying under the tutelage of Natasha Brodsky, Nina Lee, Joel Krosnick and Richard Aaron.
Emil Olejnik is a prize winner of more than twenty national and international competitions; he has been awarded Grand Prix at the ARS Lithuanica SummerFest in Vilnius and a First Prize at the CEA Polish National Cello Competition. As an avid chamber musician he appeared at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Allegro Vivo Festival, Zenon Brzewski International Music Festival and Chamber Music Academy with Scharoun Ensemble.
He is also a recipient of numerous artistic and educational scholarships such as the
Polish Ministry Of Culture and National Heritage scholarship “Young Poland” Scholarship and the First Lady of Poland Agata Kornhauser-Duda scholarship.
In 2018 Emil debuted with Rzeszów Symphony Orchestra performing P. Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations Op.33. Most recently, he had the pleasure of performing A.Dvorak Cello Concerto Op.104 in b minor with the Warmian-Masurian Symphony Orchestra. Emil is currently playing on a 1848 Jean Baptiste Vuillaume.
